The Committee will bring together a number of Councillors, key Council staff and people from the community with personal and/or professional experience and commitment to understanding the principles of environmental management & sustainability.
The Committee will provide advice and recommendations in relation to, natural environment, climate change, cultural resilience, ecological sustainability, environmental priorities, conservation strategies, management plans, public education campaigns and Council’s Threatened Species Action Plan.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now being sought for two (2) voluntary community positions on the Committee.
Persons nominating will address the following selection criteria:-
- Describe your ability to work in a positive relationship with Council and other Committee members towards providing recommendations on environmental or sustainability matters across the Fraser Coast;
- Outline your understanding of the principles of environmental management & sustainability;
- Outline your knowledge and/or active experience you may have in, and understanding of, environmental and/or sustainability issues;
- Do you currently hold any relevant qualifications? If yes, please list any relevant current qualifications;
- Demonstrate your ability to develop links and liaise with the community – be it your local community or a particular community of interest.
In addition to the selection criteria consideration will be given to achieving, where possible, a balance of geographical representation across the Region and of the various target groups who experience barriers to inclusion.
