The Sportsperson of the Month is presented by the Fraser Coast Regional Council, Fraser Coast Chronicle and Hervey Bay RSL.
This award recognises athletes who stand up above the rest, whether it’s talent, heart, determination or overcoming a challenge.
The sportsperson can be nominated by coaches, teammates, community members or the sporting family.
We encourage nominations from all sports groups within the Fraser Coast region.
If the nominee is under the age of 18 years, the legal guardian of that child must be notified by the nominator of the nomination.
The nominee must be:
- A Fraser Coast resident
- An amateur sportsperson
The following are not eligible for nomination:
- Professional sportspersons
- Nominees not resident in the Fraser Coast (primary place of residence)
Nominations must meet the criteria below.
CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION
- Sportspersons must be amateur in status;
- Junior sportsperson nominations are determined by age under 18 years of age.
Senior sportsperson nominations are determined by age - 18 years and over;
- The award is open to athletes who have their primary residence in the Fraser Coast region;
- The award is given for an outstanding sporting performance or series of performances.
Nominations will be accepted up to 4 pm on the last Monday of the nominating month.
